It has been approx
3 months since the surgery. I've had another blood test and
everything looks good. Of course it is always in the back of
your mind " Will it show up somewhere else?". I was suppose to
show up at the Doctors office today, but I went to the wrong office.
I drove 25 miles in rush hour traffic only to find out I was to go
to the office 6 miles from the house. To top it off I forgot my
wallet and cash. I begin to wonder if they cut off the oxygen
to long during surgery. I still wear a diappy in the late
afternoon until I get home. As I get tired and cough or lift
something I experience a bit of leakage. More so the last few days.
Can't get rid of a nagging cough, fatigue, nose bleeds and general
feeling of not having the old energy, as well as I feel the cold
more than before. But I am alive and enjoying my family. In
fact as I write this I am watching my youngest granddaughter. We are
watching the "Littles "and she is eating M&M's. I was with my two
oldest grand daughters last night, ages 3 and 4 1/2. They are all
unique in their own way. But I'm here and they are mine. Happy
Valentines Day.
I've gained back
15 lbs of the 38 I lost, It is sure easier to lose weight when
motivated correctly. I picked up an elliptical runner in
hopes of dropping the weight.

Follow up on little Sister She's
completed 8 rounds of Chemo, now her heart is at issue. Her heart is
enlarged and she has been given 6 months to 1 year. Our father
received a heart transplant at age 56, due to what we thought at the
time was heart virus. This gave him a few more years with us. Due to
the Cancer my sister can not have a transplant. Now it is believed
that the condition may be hereditary. Wonderful. |

Per last tests I'm still cancer free. I've gained back 12 of the 38
lbs. My energy levels have dropped off again for not explainable
reasons?. I run out of steam mid afternoon and again around 8pm. Not
able to get much done on the web sites and I don't have a chance to
help Michael on his construction project. I guess it will be
another darn trip to a doctor to find out what the hell is up. This
crap is getting old, I've things to do. Still all in all, I'm
a live. |

March 6th 2006, 9pm
For the past 4 days I've been in public
without a diappy. I went to the River boat on Sunday and was fine. I
even pushed the time limit between potty breaks to push my control.
Still have a loss of energy and to quote my wife I look pasty blue
lipped and basically like crap ( she was a bit more explicit).
So I guess it is off to Dr Summers for another round of tests. I'm
so happy to keep the health care industry financially healthy. But
it's great to be alive and able to bitch about it all and play with
my three beautiful Grand daughters ( just not all at once, I'm not
nuts.)

Hey..No diappy since the 6th. I still
had a couple times of a bit of leakage. However if you remember I
suggested dark pants. ** As a side note if I've not mentioned this
before: The leakage is minor it doesn't run down your leg, if I may
be crude and I usually am. It is like you forgot to give it an extra
shake. I've fully recovered from the surgery and remain clean.
I do have an appointment to check a couple spots on my arm. The boss
is nervous and thinks it may be skin cancer, who knows. Now if
the doctors could figure out what else is up wife my fat old body we
would be in business. I've gained back about half the weight I
lost. I guess the motivation just isn't the same " Lose weight so
you can have surgery so you won't die - or lose wait because you are
a fat ass, just not the same motivation" I did buy an elliptical
runner 3 weeks ago, I got it up stairs last week and I hope to find
the energy to open the box and set it up this week.
Warning Guys,
You are never to young to have your doctor add a PSA test to the
blood work up of our annual physical. I had a fine young man
in his late 30's come in to visit yesterday. He was diagnosed with
prostate cancer. Like mine it was caught very early by a doctor who
was doing his job. In my uneducated position had this young mans
doctor waited until he was in his mid 40's-50 I may have been
talking to a dead man. ( Just my opinion). He and his lovely wife
are gathering information and weighing the options. |

Still off the dippies. I
attempted to not take the bladder control medicine. However the urge
to go the bathroom every couple of hours came back. So I'm back on
them along with the other 5-6 pills I take. Nice to know I'm helping
the impoverished drug companies to stay above the water.
Just got results from the PSA test. All is good, the level doesn't
exist.
I do have another round of
unrelated surgery scheduled for July 27th for my head ( I
think they are checking to see if anything is in there besides
cobwebs.
I have changed occupations. I
know longer own a retail store ( it's my wife's now) I'm
concentrating on my web design, hosting and marketing company.
The young Deputy I spoke of
earlier has gone thru his surgery and recover with flying colors. It
just goes to show that the right attitude makes a difference ( not
to mention being in top shape didn't hurt either). He is back on
duty and working with his K-9 partner
( There was some rumors that he was
milking the sick leave just a little, Hell you all know I believe in
using the "Cancer Card" for sympathy anytime I can.)
Hope all goes well for your
all. Should you wish to relate a story to me or to ask a question or
just to tell me to jump off you can contact me a

Happy New Year.
It has been over one year since
my surgery and all is still clear. I've been off the 'Don't
piss your pants meds" for approximately 4 months. Still taking meds
for other issues. My family Doctor
wants me to have another physical with a full Chem panel. I joke
with him that I'm not sure that I want another physical, because the
last time he gave me Cancer.
I still experience a little
leakage every now and then when I'm tired - Always wear dark colored
pants and it isn't an issue.
My little sister is still with
us ( breast cancer). Our friend John T. is still with us (
brain and Esophagus Cancer),
he was just in to inform us that if next weeks test goes well, they
will reattach to his stomach. I asked what was the 1st thing he is
going to eat - He is mixed between a
Chili double burger or Mexican food.
To many this may be trivial, however to me it is
a big loss. I lost my Neuf Baybe) to Cancer on Dec. 13th 2006.
Hopefully I will be able to
only post good news to all.

January 9, 2007 10:00am
I had a bit of an personal awakening. I didn't think that concerns
about getting Cancer was so high in my sub-consciousness . A
few days ago I was having pain that made me originally think I was
have an appendicitis or Kidney stones. However, one of the first
thoughts that came to the surface was " I wonder if it could be
colon cancer?". That was the 26th of December, on the 29th the
ER at Hancock Memorial confirmed that I had Kidney stone and it
would pass. They gave me pain meds, a pee strainer and sent me home.
The pain came and went all week until Monday am Jan. 8th I couldn't
take it anymore and went to the ER at Community North. After a few
hours of tests, morphine drips the ER doctor said that my Kidney
stone was over 5mm and stuck. I needed to contact Dr Ney for an
appointment.
I've listened to others and
they tell my there are two outpatient procedures for the 1.
knock me out and then break up the stones with ultra-sonic waves 2.
Knock me out and use the basket retrieval system.
#2 sounded ok to me until
someone related his partners experience: While out they put a stint
up his Johnson and attached a string to the stone (?) a few days
later he went to the Doctors office. Two nurses came into the room ,
a petite nurse and one that looked like an Army DI. The little one
sat on his chest and the big one pulled the string and stone out of
his Johnson. Man that is Medieval and can't be
true. A paramedic that works for me part-time said " Sure Mike
that is the procedure"!
That's not right and it
ain't happening, I can live with Prostate surgery , having a
catheter installed and removed while awake with no meds, Gun shot
wound, Knife wound, tooth filled with out Novocain, OK . But nobody -
absolutely NOBODY is pulling a boulder attached to a rope out of me
Johnson. Nope it ain't gona happen - NOPE
****Thank you to all the
folks who inquire about my health and to those that relate theirs to
me, I'm humbled that my self-therapy site has helped so many guys
get thru this. Mike Hilton |

No Kidney stone yet - of course I've not
hurt since the 10th - Just waiting it out. PSA test is back and all
looks good.
Another
Friend taken by Cancer
I just found
out that another friend lost his battle with Cancer. Mr. John
Thompson. You might remember him from an earlier posting. John was
originally diagnosed with Brain and
Esophageal Cancer, he
survived the brain surgery without any lasting effects, they removed
his esophagus. John was scheduled to have his digestive track
reconstructed in the up coming week. John was up beat and positive
to the end. He made everyday the best he could. |

Had my complete annual physical last
week - including a Colonoscopy. All is well - Guys it is recommended
that once you hit the big 50 and earlier if their is a family
history to have a Colonoscopy. Not a big deal . You check in at the
hospital as an outpatient, they knock you out and an hour later you
are on the way home. or In my case the River Boat. |

Note*** Please note that I bring these details not to be self
serving, however they are for the next guy who must go thru the same
thing. Hopefully this information will make it easier for one
guy to get thru it with a bit less uncertainty.
