Prostate Cancer ? It can never happen to Me. Yea Right!

Life Experience of a Cancer Scare.

Nothing new from Doctors since we are waiting for the appointed date of surgery.  They are going to schedule it for De vinci / open surgery.  As of this am I only need to lose 17 lbs.   I find that if I smell a Hostess cake while I eat a rice cake it makes my poor brain believe I'm eating dessert.

It is amazing to me the large number of customers who have come forward to tell me about their or a family members battle with cancer. One of my friends is threatened me with making a T-shirt if I keep referring to myself as  Cancer Boy"  Luck to all.

Good news, Dr Ney's office called to give me the Date of October 7th for my slice and dice. That gives me plenty of time to lose the 16 lbs I need to lose.  Plus works best for  all concerns schedule. My daughter won't miss much at the salon, because  my wife will not be able to watch the baby on Saturday. ( although I don't know why not, cause I can keep myself amused at the hospital the day after surgery. Michael will only miss two days out of his schedule to open his new business .  I will be able to come back Monday or  Tuesday, where as the Doc say 2 weeks ( foolish mortal) . They are sending me a packet with info about pre and post surgery stuff. So for any of you guys possibly facing this and not to this stage of info. I will let you know.

If you recall an earlier post I spoke of a friend in Oklahoma who was waiting on a biopsy.  Well his results are back and he has it too. The difference in treatment options is amazing between private care and the VA. I was in the doctor the next day to discuss my options. My friend was told that his appointment is not  till Aug. 23rd to discuss his surgery ( not his options).  Apparently the VA also does not pay for all the surgery.

Nothing new to report, Haven't discovered a magic leaf yet. I only need to drop 10 more lbs to meet Dr Ney's goal set for the surgery. I have an appointment on Friday at the heart hospital. They are trying get my Blood pressure to level out before the slice and dice day.  One reading will be 145 over 95  and a few minutes later it is 88 over 55.  Well we will see what the hell kills me 1st. I'm on duty tomorrow serving warrants and such. Luck to all  I will give you more when I got it.

Attempted to play at boy today. I made it thru the 1st warrant by pure guts.  I had to excuse myself after that because I was endangering my team members. Nothing worse than yelling "Police let me see your hands" while the room is swimming in circles.  Went home and took a nap for the 1st time in my life since I was in diapers. If I do not improve soon I will have to pull myself from duty or I'm going to get someone hurt.  Nothing new from the doctors they are all on a  hold pattern until the rest of the tests are done and keep messin with my medications.  Blah- Blah- Blah. Luck to all!  Enjoy your family, life is too short to stress the little crap.

Still working on losing the last 10lbs that the surgeons want me too get rid of before surgery. I have been at this level for about a week and a half and just don't seem to be able to fall over the hump.  I had my appointment with the cardiologists. Yep you guessed it "More figgin tests" They can't figure out why my pressure won't stabilize. They know this is causing me to be dizzy when I stand up or bend over.  They aren't sure why I'm tired all the time or have no energy. I attempted to drive to a location 90 miles away. Didn't make it, the boss had to take over and I felt like I was beat to hell when we got  there. In fact fell asleep a couple of times while sitting at the Black jack tables. I guess I scared the hell out of the dealer and they had an on staff EMT come over.  So Now I limit myself to driving to and from work and had myself put on sick leave from Police Boy work.  Trying to keep positive about it all, but I'm gettin real sick of being sick. (whine, whine, whine). I still can enjoy my grand daughters more matter how bad or low I feel the little monsters make me feel better.

My friend in Oklahoma is schedules for surgery the same week as myself. He is attempting to get his moved up because he is put his name in for a transfer to Hawaii ( damn now what a place to recover!).  Well luck to all If I learn anything new or want to whine some more I will post for you.
